iMovie. A Love-Hate Relationship.

"iMovie,Oh, how I have longed for you! I love you so! iMovie, why can't you just do what I want you to do? I hate you."-a happy but confused vlogger.

Do you remember as a kid getting a new friend and you just couldn't wait to get over to their house and play all kinds of new games? Finally the day arrives, your friend tries to teach you a new game, and you fumble around trying to get all the rules right. Finally you feel like you are getting the hang of things, but now your friend changes the rules on you(because they ARE the rule maker). Then you feel like you will never get it right. This is how I feel about iMovie at this moment.

iMovie is fairly easy to use and has all kinds of neat extras but there is far more I can discover in time. I hope everyone understands I am just learning how to use this and I know that it could be so much better. Please continue to watch my progress. I hope to get better for you all, and make better quality videos.

Tick Tock

March has finally arrived. I can't believe how fast time is flying. We just celebrated Gracie's birthday two days ago. I have an eight year old. Can you believe it? Time really is flying. We have had such a busy month already and it just keeps getting busier. We are going to a beach wedding, we have suprise guests coming to stay, James will be finished with school soon, and Jacks sixth birthday is at the end of this month.

April will be a whirlwind of busyness. James will start out processing, the kids will start telling all their friends and teachers goodbye, we will be having a yard sale for all our junk we cant take with us,and the list goes on.

May will bring sadness and joy. We will be leaving this house that we have made a home in for the past three years. We will be loading up and hitting the road to our hometown to say goodbye to our family and friends for 2 whole years. We will be saying goodbye to our pets for two years. (This one really hurts) It will be a start of a new adventure. It will bring so much knowledge to all five of us. I hope it brings a sense of appreciation and pride to the kids that their father is able to give them something they will treasure forever.

June brings Korea. With that brings adventure. Stay tuned

There's A Camera In My Face!

This weekend while filming our practice videos for our move I have noticed that I am not getting any footage of where we are actually going or what we are doing. You can only see so many videos of the kids in the car before you lose interest. I am kicking myself for not filming in Cracker Barrel, J.R's big emprorium, the western wear store and the big Soffe outlet more.

When you have so many (little) people to watch over you completely forget about filming. It makes it hard on me to remember what I brought the camera for in the first place. This is exactly why we are trying our best to make these practice videos right now. So we can remember to film everything and just maybe in all that we can find something worth capturing to keep our viewers coming back for more. I also need to keep the camera out more so we will all be use to it. Between me trying to get the right words out, getting James to interact with the camera, and getting the kids to not go too wild when there is a camera in their face has became somewhat of a challenge.

With warmer weather and moving day fastly approaching we hope to have more opportunities to film more of us out and about. This weekend we will be filming Walker Days in Salisbury,N.C., a trip to Jekyll Island, GA in a few weeks for my cousins wedding, spring outings, and more. I am hoping to have better videos once we are busy again and away from this cold weather. We also will be purchasing better video editing software that I hope will make a big difference in the quality of our Vlogs.  Stay tuned for more. Thanks for reading!

P.S. Big shoutout to Amanda who likes to read our blogs to Brian. Thanks for helping our view points go up. After reading this to Brian tell him we said hello! 😄

To Vlog or not to Vlog?

Now days we live in a world that is very nosey. Reality T.V. is the norm and on every channel. YouTube is increasingly popular with what "Tech Savvy" people call Vlogs and I am addicted. Something about looking into other people's lives is so fascinating to me. To see how normal people like ourselves live day to day. I have been going back and forth with making our own family Vlog.

As you all know we are moving to South Korea. I have had the hardest time finding anything about living in South Korea or overseas for families especially military families. I have seen a few blogs here and there on the subject but not really any videos that I can connect with. So I finally worked up enough nerve to ask my husband if this was something we could do as a family and he said yes!

So in the next few months there will be new blogs and Vlogs up of our experiences PCSing overseas. From our moving day in North Carolina, to the long flight over, our first experience stepping off the plane, living in a hotel, finding our new home for 2 years, and all of our adventures exploring Asia.

My first video explains why I would like to make a family vlog and asking if anyone would even want to watch our vlogs. Please go to my YouTube account and hit the SUBSCRIBE button. Thanks, Ya'll!
